Cal Poly Shake Smart Opening This Fall

In 2013, the University Union Advisory Board (UUAB) began discussing the possibility of bringing a blended drink option to campus with Cal Poly Campus Dining. Four years later, that idea is becoming a reality.

After additional collaborations between UUAB and Campus Dining on a student survey and formal recommendation to the university president, Shake Smart will open this fall in front of the Cal Poly Recreation Center. According to their website, Shake Smart was started by two San Diego State University students who were searching for healthy and accessible on-the-go dining options.

In addition to offering a variety of blended protein shakes, Shake Smart will also offer acai bowls, wraps, and cold-brew coffee. The company claims each shake has at least 30 grams of protein, high quality whey isolates, real fruits and vegetables, and offers vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options.

Remember to enjoy your shake before entering the Recreation Center. Only clear water is allowed inside the facility per the Cal Poly Recreation Center General Policies.
