ASI 2016–17 Annual Report Now Available

The ASI 2016–17 Annual Report, which highlights ASI’s commitment to connecting students to their ultimate college experience, is now available. The report features the organization’s accomplishments from the past academic year, including an overview of all ASI programs, ASI-managed facilities, and initiatives. Check out interesting facts and information about the organization, including the following:

  • Over 200 San Luis Obispo students worked on the Cal Poly Rose Float that featured over 10,000 roses and 30,000 mums
  • 1,228,289 total Cal Poly Recreation Center member entries: 9.3 percent increase in use over 2015–16
  • 1,001 day passes sold and 109 classes offered at the ASI Craft Center
  • 3,562 students attended the annual Spring Stampede concert presented by ASI Events
  • 56 ASI Poly Escapes trips were led to locations including Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Big Sur, Yosemite National Park, and Death Valley National Park
  • 14,085 total visits to the ASI Poly Escapes Climbing Park
  • 11,108 total ASI Intramural Sports participants with 2,736 games played
  • 85,651 total group exercise class participants
  • ASI Recreational Sports introduced the Poly Body + Being wellness program offering 9 workshops with 182 total participants
  • ASI Event Operations scheduled space for 14,000 separate student and faculty events and meetings
  • 124 children at the Orfalea Family and ASI Children’s Center were cared for by teachers and 95 student employees
  • 301 ASI student staff members were hired
  • ASI launched 7 Instagram pages with 301 total Instagram posts and 4,376 Instagram followers
